Fancy Ground Turkey, Shells, and Cheese Goop

1/2 lb of pasta shells
1 pound ground turkey or beef
1 can el pato or regular tomato sauce (small can)
1/2 packet taco seasoning, or make your own (see below)
1 yellow onion, quartered and sliced
3 tomatoes, chopped.
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. cheddar cheese, sliced into 1/4 strips.
1 bunch of broccoli (optional)

Homemade Taco Seasoning:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Cook the meat with the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Drain, set aside. Boil the shells, drain. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the cream cheese, then add the cheddar. Stir until they melt together. Add the cheese, meat, onions to the shells. Mix well. Add the tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes and taco seasoning. Stir it all up. Top with some hot sauce. I use "Frank's Hot Sauce".

I added beer to the cheese goop and also broccoli to the meal....used shallots in place of onion (easier to hide with a finicky eater!).....I enjoy this recipe a lot! - Monique
