Hamburger Casserole

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1 (8 oz.) pkg noodles
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp pepper
4 shallots, finely chopped (original recipe called for 10-12, but... seems like overkill)
4 cloves garlic
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
3 oz block of cream cheese (3/8 cup)
8 oz of sour cream

Directions:
Melt butter. Toss in meat, fry until browned. Drain excess grease. Crush garlic and mix with meat along with salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Cook 15-20 minutes. Cook noodles in boiling water 15-20 minutes. Drain. Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Finely chop shallots and mix with softened cream cheese and sour cream. Grease casserole dish lightly with butter. Put layer of noodles in bottom. Spread about 1/3 cream cheese/sour cream/shallot mixture on top, then 1/3 meat mixture. Repeat layers until casserole is filled. (depending on size of the pan, you might just do one layer...) Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over top. Bake 15-25 minutes, or until quite bubbly.
